Safety Audits & Inspections
An audit tells you the truth about your safety system before a regulator, a certifier or an incident does. We audit workplaces across Queensland: against the ISO management system standards if you hold or want certification, and against the WHS Act and Regulation if you simply want to know where you stand.
ISO management system audits
- Gap analysis. Your current system measured against ISO 45001 (safety), ISO 9001 (quality) or ISO 14001 (environment), with a clause-by-clause report of what exists, what's missing and what to build first.
- Internal audits. The scheduled internal audits your certification requires, done by someone independent of the system being audited, with findings written the way certification bodies expect to read them.
- Certification readiness. A full dry run before your Stage 1 or surveillance audit, so nothing in the external audit is a surprise.
General safety audits
- WHS compliance audits. Your workplace, plant and records assessed against the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (Qld) and its Regulation: the duties that apply to every Queensland business, whether or not you ever pursue certification.
- Workplace inspections. Scheduled walk-through inspections of sites, depots, warehouses and offices, with a photographed findings register.
- Contractor and supplier audits. Verification that the contractors working for you actually have the systems, licences and insurances their tender said they did.
- Safety management system reviews. A practical review of your SWMS, procedures, registers and training records: are they current, are they used, and would they stand up after an incident.
Who uses this service
- Directors and officers who carry a personal due diligence duty under section 27 of the WHS Act and need evidence they are exercising it.
- Businesses tendering for work where the client demands audit results, certification or a demonstrated safety system.
- Certified businesses that need independent internal audits to keep their ISO certificates.
- Growing businesses that built their safety paperwork years ago and suspect it no longer matches what actually happens on site.
Why audits matter in Queensland
The WHS Act 2011 (Qld) applies to every business in the state, and it is one of the few Australian jurisdictions with an industrial manslaughter offence attached. Officers cannot delegate their due diligence duty; they must verify that the safety resources and processes they rely on are actually in place and actually used. An independent audit is the cleanest way to do that verification, and the audit report is the record that it happened.
What you receive
- An audit report prepared by a qualified HSEQ consultant, scoped to the standard or legislation you were audited against.
- A findings register with each finding classified, evidenced and photographed where relevant.
- A prioritised corrective action plan with practical recommendations, not a list of problems.
- A close-out review of completed actions if you want one.
How it works
- Scope. Tell us the standard or the concern. We confirm scope, duration and a fixed fee.
- On site. We attend your workplace, interview the people doing the work, and verify records against reality.
- Report. Findings and the action plan are delivered within five business days of the visit.
